Check out this really easy tutorial for Wood Slice Snowmen Ornaments.
I love all things snowmen related. I just have a thing for them and think they’re the cutest. Like the old Campbell’s soup commerical where the snowman comes in to have a bowl of soup and he thaws out and melts into a little boy. Love it! I was at Target the other day and spotted some wood slice tags in the Dollar Spot at Target and knew these would make for the cutest ornaments. The best part is… I created all 6 of these ornaments for just a dollar. I already had the paint and ribbon. But, you wouldn’t have to buy any ribbon, the package of tags already comes with twine. These also come together in no time and make the perfect homemeade gift to attach to a present, wine bottle, card, etc.
Wood Slice Tag From Dollar Spot
- White, Black, and Orange Paint
- Paint Brush
These are the great wood slice tags that I found in the Dollar Spot bins at Target. It’s such a bargain to get six of these for $1. I just had to snatch them up. I think I will have to go back for more.
Step 1: Use white paint to paint the front and backs of the wood slices. I used chalk paint for this. I found that it covers things a lot better and wanted to cover up the dark chalkboard circle on the one side. The chalk paint worked perfectly for this.
Step 2: Use a fine paint brush and paint the nose and eyes onto the slices. Let them dry. You can seal these with a matte spray paint or leave as is.
Step 3: Use the twine that is provided for you or use your own ribbon to make a loop to hang the snowmen by.
Enjoy making these cute little snowmen. They’re just adorable and so easy. Now, I’m off to Target to pick up more of the tags. I hope they still have them.
