This post is brought to you in part by DecoArt and Stampendous.  I received product for this post, but all thoughts, crafts, photographs, and ideas are my own.

Here’s What You Need:

  • A Cute Stamp from Stampendous
  • DecoArt SoSoft Fabric Paint
  • Foam Brush
  • Knit Fabric of Any Color Cut Into a Small Rectangles
  • T-Shirt
  • Thread to Match T-Shirt Color
  • Sewing Machine

Step 1: Ink up the Stampendous Stamp with SoSoft Fabric Paint.  I did a test stamp first to be sure that my stamp was fully inked. Next, I stamped a few of the small fabric samples, and let the SoSoft Fabric Paint dry. Once they were dry, I selected the fabric piece that I thought turned out best, to be used  for my applique.

Step 2:  Trim the fabric into a square.  You could do any shape though.

Step 3:  Pin it onto the T-Shirt to hold it in place.  Use a matching thread color to sew the applique onto the T-Shirt. I like the look of the rough, raw edges, so I didn’t sew too close to the edge of the applique. If you’d like a more finished look, you could do a zig-zag stitch around your edges.

Love, love, love this idea. Thank you for sharing. I’ve been thinking of a way to decorate my grandchildren’s clothing. Hand stitching seemed too time consuming.

      Hi Barbara,
Thank you so much for the comments. I debated about whether or not I should put “Cute As A Fox” on the t-shirt and then decided against it. If your daughter loves the song, she will definitely love this stamp!

Hi there! I was just checking out some of the other blog hoppers and wanted to tell you that this turned out adorable! Almost as cute as your little one! I haven’t tried the So Soft yet. I was thinking it will be great on pillowcases. How does it wash?

      Hi Jessa,
Thank you so much for checking out my post on the Stamped Applique T-Shirt and the sweet comments. So Soft is great and it’s washes up really nicely. I think it would work perfect for pillowcases and what a great idea. Let me know when you make them and I would love to check them out.

Melanie, this came out so cute!! And your daughter looks like she really enjoys it! We find that applying the paint to the stamp with a makeup sponge or sponge brush makes it easy and simple to get it well-inked. It was really smart to make several trials then pick the best! Love how you did this project. Thanks for sharing. We’ve tweeted, and pinned, and will share it on our blog hop tomorrow!
