Hi Everyone!

I’m Melanie from Artzy Creations.  I love all things creative and to make all things.  I started  this blog to share my creative adventures with everyone.  When asked when or how I became so creative, I think back to a crazy art project that I made in first grade.  We made salt dough candy cane ornaments.  However, mine couldn’t be just any old candy cane.  Mine had to be unique.  All my classmates and me were given the choice of markers to color our candy canes.  Let’s just put it this way…  I went to TOWN!  I colored that candy cane every color under the sun.  The best part is my Mom still has that candy cane to this day.  It gets hung on the Christmas tree every year and I laugh at how extreme of a candy cane it is (if a candy cane can be extreme 🙂 ).

From then on, I knew I wanted to do something in a creative field.  Later, I knew I wanted to share my love of the creative process and  I eventually  decided to pursue a career in art education. I obtained both my undergraduate and graduate degrees and have taught art to all age levels pre-k-12th grade in several public school systems.  Right now, I am teaching Photography, Pottery, and Yearbook at a local high school.

This is my family:

Artz Family Robinson

We recently moved from Southern California to Seattle…  Quite a change, but it has been an amazing adventure.  If you’ve followed my blog, you have seen my two daughters make many of the art projects featured on the site. They LOVE  to make things too!  As a family, we love to camp, do lots of outdoor activities, and go on adventures whenever possible.

About me personally:

The list could go on.  I guess you could say I’m a bit of a romantic at heart.

Well, enough about me.  I sincerely hope you enjoy Artzy Creations. Please take some time… look around and I really hope you are inspired to make your own “Artzy” Creations.
