My girls love to hang out in the kitchen while I’m cooking. I came up with this very easy to make tic tac toe game for them to play on the refrigerator while they’re hanging out.
Here’s what you need:
- 2 Pieces of Various Scrapbook Paper
- Wooden Discs (2 Packages from Michael’s)
- X-Acto Knife
- Mod Podge
- Scrapbook Letters
- Paint Brush
- Hot Glue Gun
- Circle Punch (Optional)
- Washi Tape
Step 1: Use a 1 1/2″ circle cutter to cut the circles or you can trace an object to make the large circle shape as well. it doesn’t have to be a circle. You just need the pieces to be larger than the wooden disks and I had the punch so it was quick for me to punch them out.
Step 2: Mod Podge the paper to the wooden circle disk piece. Let it stand for a few minutes to dry.
Step 3: Trim the excess paper with an X-Acto knife. Make sure you blade is sharp. Flip over and Mod Podge the scrapbook letter on the front of the wooden circle.
Step 4: Add the magnet strip to the back of the wooden disc. If you need to, you can use hot glue for this to ensure the magnetic strip will stick to the back.
Step 5: Apply the Washi tape Tic Tac Toe grid to your refrigerator. The Washi tape is very gentle on the refrigerator and will not leave a residue. It’s similar to painter’s tape and it works perfect for this.
Here are the girls playing Tic Tac Toe.
They love it!
