We’re bring to you today some wonderful cookie recipes with the blog hop that I think you will all love.
For me, nothing says Christmas more than Spritz cookies. I have fond memories of spending many a Christmas with my Mom in the kitchen making her Spritz cookie recipe, and my sister and I always decorating them. The smell of these cookies would fill the entire house. Every Christmas season this was one of our favorite things to do, and every year on Santa’s cookie plate, there was always a few of the Spritz cookies that we decorated. To this day, I still make the spritz cookies except now, I make them with my two daughters. I’m passing on the tradition and the fun. I think they love decorating these as much as my sister and I once used to.
I call this the “No Fail Spritz Cookie Recipe” because I’ve learned over the years, that I can always count on this cookie to turn out. It’s not like some other cookies where you have to worry about them not rising, and ending up with a big mess. The only thing you have to remember is to sightly chill the dough so once you put the dough into the spritz/cookie maker they come out correctly.
No Fail Spritz Cookie Recipe:
- (1) Stick Butter
- (1) Stick Margarine
- 3/4 Cup Sugar
- (1) Egg
- (1) tsp. Vanilla
- 2 -1/4 Cups Flour
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1/4 tsp. Baking Powder
Cream the butter and sugar together well. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Sift all the dry ingredients together. Chill the cookie dough for about 1/2 hour to an hour, until chilled. Fill the cookie press and form your cookies on an non-greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle the cookies before baking so the decorations stick to the dough. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 -12 minutes.
It’s a simple and straight forward recipe that comes together really easily. It’s perfect for the holidays. The best part is everyone can help decorate the cookies.
I hope you enjoy this recipe and have fun making these with the entire family! Check out these other awesome cookie recipes from these ladies:
