There’s such excitement in our house for summer to come it’s unbelievable. Then it seems once summer is here, the excitement is gone.. and then one day, summer boredom sets in for my kids. Well, to help with those days, I always try to have some extra crafts on hand for them. Luckily for them, I had this Bird Feeder kit from We Made It. We Made It is a new line from JoAnn Fabric and Crafts and Jennifer Garner. Jennifer Garner worked to create this kids line and developed it to encourage creativity and imagination for kids ages 4-11. There are over 100 different kids crafts and activities. The part that is great about these kits is that they are really well put together and each one looks super fun.
For example, this Fruit Bird Feeder is really well thought out and includes all of the materials for the project. The other thing I really like about these kits is that they provide quality materials. I’m usually really picky when it comes to craft kits and whether or not they are cheap or not. Going on my 18th year of teaching art, I have tried out many different craft kits and craft materials, so I know quality when I see it. The paint they included was especially great quality. I was really impressed!
The photo above shows all of what the Fruit Bird Feeder Kit included. The stencils were also very kid user friendly because they have a sticky adhesive which helps hold them in place. This way they don’t slide around and frustrate your kids.
The directions are clearly displayed on the back of the kit and are easy for both kids and parents to follow. Apply paint to the top and bottom of the bird feeder (or take some creative liberty and paint anywhere). Once that’s done, stencil their name any where on the bird feeder. Then you’re ready to hang your bird feeder.
Lily found this kit to be so fun! She enjoyed being able to paint the project entirely by herself. The only thing I helped her with was applying the stencils.
Now, it’s off to hang our really cute bird feeder. So, grab a few of these We Made it Kits (which can be found here ) for the days when they need a little creative pick me up when they’re feeling bored. You will love the quality of them and the kids will love how much fun they are. Also, part of the proceeds go to Save The Children Organization. Pretty awesome that they are giving back and investing in “Childhood” around the world! Also, JoAnn Fabric and Craft is having an Instagram Sweepstakes. Go ahead and enter your completed We Made It Kit and projects, various creations, or even crafting tips for a chance to win. Have fun creating and playing!
