Here’s a quick, simple, fun craft activity for kids to make for Father’s Day!  It’s also very inexpensive to make as well.  This project works well for PK-3rd Grade.

Here’s what you need:

  • Poster Board
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Paint Brush
  • Pieces of Different Colored Tissue Paper
  • Glue

Step #1: Lightly draw the shape of the tie in pencil onto the poster board.   With older kids, you can have them draw out the tie shape themselves.

Step #2: Cut out the tie.  If you are doing this with younger kids, assist them with the cutting process.

Step #3:  Make a glue and water solution.  I just take a little glue and a little water and mix it up.  No measuring needed.  Paint the tie with the glue and water solution first.  Put down the pieces of colored tissue paper.  Keep putting pieces of tissue paper until the entire tie is filled up.
