It seems like every holiday has a tendency to sneak up on us and Valentine’s Day is no exception. It seemed like with all of the hustle and bustle of getting the Valentine’s Day cards ready for both my girls and they little treat bags that I didn’t have very much time for anything else. So, I needed something that was quick and easy, but still had the handmade touch to it. These cards are great because you can add your own personal spin to them as well. Let’s get started!
Supplies You Need:
- Blank Cards
- Washi Tape In Various Designs
- Bristol Board (Optional)
- X-Acto Knife
- Double Sided Tape
Step 1: Draw you design lightly on the card. You can also draw this on the inside so none of your pencil lines will be visible. If you’re not comfortable with your free hand drawing skills, trace any clip art design. Watch when you write and go to cut out words. You will need to break them up a little bit so the letters will remain recognizable.
Step 2: Cut your design out with an X-Acto Knife. Go back and clean up any eraser marks.
Step 3: Cut a piece of Bristol Board or use half of a blank card. Trim this so it will line up with front of the card. Place the washi tape on one side of the Bristol Board. Double check to make sure you have enough washi tape for your design.
Step 4: Place double sided tape on the outside edges of the Bristol Board. Line this up with the top of the card and smooth in place.
I had to go back and try some of my calligraphy on two of the cards. I love how it looks. You can leave your cards blank or write any message you want. That’s the great part about these Easy Valentine’s Day Cards. So, have some last minute fun and grab your washi tape and go!
