DIY Anthropologie Cuff

Feature Cuff

Here’s a very simple tutorial for the Satin Sparkle Cuff Bracelet from Anthropologie.  This cost me less than $5.00 and took about 15 minutes to make.  Granted, I had the vintage strip of rhinestones from my Grandmother.   However, if you make a couple of these for gifts you can definitely justify the cost per yard for the rhinestones.  Also, If you shop around, you will probably be able to find rhinestones by the yard that cost less than the examples I am sharing. Below is the bracelet as seen on the Anthropologie website.

Anthro Version

Here’s what you need to make your own:

  • Cuff Bracelet (I used a cuff bracelet that I found in the Fimo section at Michaels.)
  • 1 yd. of 1 1/4″ Gray Satin Ribbon
  • Hot Glue
  • Rhinestone Accent (You can find some here at M&J Trimming.  Or here at Etsy.)

Start off by cutting (2) 1-1/4″ pieces of ribbon.  Fold the edges in and secure with a little hot glue.  I know what your thinking though.  Does the hot glue really work with the metal cuff?  I was very skeptical too.  Your fine as long as you put the hot glue down and then quickly fold the ribbon over.  Once you fold the ribbon over on the sides, fold the ribbon towards the center like a V.  Place hot glue underneath to secure it.  Repeat this process on the other end of the bracelet.

wrapping the ribbon

Secure the long ribbon to the bracelet. This will be wrapped around the entire cuff.

spacing the ribbon

Begin wrapping the ribbon along the cuff.  Make sure to evenly space it as you go.  Also, be sure to also keep the ribbon as tight as possible when you are wrapping it.

finished bracelet

Fold the ribbon over and secure with hot glue on the underside of the cuff at the other end.

Hot glue the strip of rhinestones to the bracelet.

It’s that simple!

I wanted to make my own version with a thicker cuff.  For the large cuff, I used a rhinestone closer that I already had.   I paired the two cuff with a vintage rhinestone bracelet that was from my Grandmother.

I love all the sparkle!

    Melanie,

I love these! I really want to try my hand at them. (I’ve pinned them so I won’t forget)

I got here through the Taylor House linky party, and I think I’m going to take a look around. Reading your description, your life isn’t all that different from mine!
