Free Happy Birthday Coloring Page and Hershey

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Hershey Company. All opinions are 100% mine.

Birthdays are always special. I’ve always enjoyed celebrating my birthdays, but birthdays became even more special when I had my two daughters. I’m always looking for ways to make their birthday extra special. When inviting their friends over, I like to have different colors and themes for their birthdays. I also love to have goodies bags that coordinate with their birthday theme too. Secretly I always wished that the candy would be color coordinated too. Well, my wishes have been heard because now Hershey makes birthday planning and celebrating that much easier with their new birthday themed chocolates. They go with any super hero, princess, woodland or pretty much any themed party you decide to have. Just check out all this cuteness.

Hershey’s Kisses Chocolates come in a variety of colors. I’m in love with all of these. You can mix or match to create the cutest goody bag or use them as prizes for games at your next birthday party too. But, the fun doesn’t stop there!

Hershey also created a new type of Hershey’s Kisses for birthday celebrations. There’s now Hershey’s Kisses Birthday Cake candies. These are just adorable and they are wrapped in bright blue foil with polka dots. That’s my kinda of packaging. These made me so happy I had to include this picture…

And there’s more! This is my daughter’s favorite part. Hershey created birthday wands with Reese’s cups that make great party favors too!

Don’t forget your Hershey’s Assorted Miniatures and the Kit Kat® Miniatures too. They too, all come in bright colors for lots of birthday fun.

So, now you have lots of tasty and colorful options to jazz up your Birthday parties with Hersheys. To add to the celebration, I’ve also included a Free Happy Birthday Coloring page that I designed. Coloring pages are a hit with pretty much any age. With this coloring page, I designed it to go along with any birthday party theme. The coloring page also makes for a very hassle free kids activity that requires very minimum clean up. As you can see, I also made it pretty detailed for the older kids who really like to spend more time coloring. I think this coloring page goes perfect with the Birthday party themed candy from Hershey, and all I ask is that it is used for personal use only.

Download and print the Free Happy Birthday Coloring Page here

So, where do you grab all of this cuteness? You can get all of the fun and brightly colored Hershey Birthday candy at your local Walmart store. You can find it in the celebration isles. This makes planning and organizing that birthday celebration so much easier. You really can be done in a matter of minutes. So, don’t let a time crunch or lack of colorful options be the factor that keeps you from having the perfect color coordinated party favors at your special someone’s next birthday celebration.

Decorating With UncommonGoods

This post is sponsored by UncommonGoods.  However, all of the opinions in this post are 100% my own.

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to decorating, I’m always looking for well designed unique pieces to decorate my home. Definitely not your run of the mill pieces that you see in every store.   Being an artist, I love having variety and statement pieces that aren’t from your typical house ware store that is just down the street.  Recently, I was introduced to UncommonGoods and immediately fell in love with all of their products.

UncommonGoods has a variety of home decor items. Everything from vases, night lights, storage containers, to pillows and more.  If you’re looking for a unique wedding gift, this is a great place to shop too.

I also love the fact that they support local artisans, as well as, community artisans in low income areas.  UncommonGoods goal as a business, is to build a community of artisans and support their work by featuring their products for sale on their website and catalogue.  The  Handmade Herringbone Knitting Basket above is by the artist Leslie Mittleburg.  She works with African communities across the continent to educate and improve their living conditions and also to help create independence for  rural African communities.  This is an amazing cause, and I love the fact that I can help support the efforts of this artisan.  Not too mention that the craftsmanship of the basket is absolutely gorgeous and this is a piece I will continue to have for a very long time.

uncommongoods-artzycreations2This DIY Succulent Living Wall Planter is a fun and unique gift for just about anyone.   If you know someone that has a green thumb they will absolutely love this as a gift.  This DIY kit is designed by artist Heather Autcher from California.  In the product, you receive your hand built planter box and baby succulents. When they arrive you plant the succulents yourself and watch them as they grow and fill in the succulent planter box.

My favorite addition to the room is this Sari Floral Rug that has been created from recycled  saris in India.  I not only love the durability of this rug, but I absolutely love the fun and bright colors. They add the perfect pop of color to our room.

So, if you’re looking for just the perfect house warming gift or need a great statement piece for your own home, I highly suggest that you head on over to Uncommongoods for the piece that you’re looking for.  You will not only get a great product, but you will helping to support artisans and the communities they live in too.

Here’s a fun tutorial for you to create the perfect Boho style bracelet using beautiful beads from Happy Mango Beads This piece will be a great addition to any wardrobe.

Supplies Needed:

DIY Boho Bracelet_Artzy Creations

Step 1:  Begin by cutting a piece of thread at least 36″ in length.  Knot the end of the thread.  Thread the needle.  Make sure as you work, to carefully keep the thread from getting tangled.

Step 2:  Cut the piece of cording to 7″.  Keep in mind if you have a larger wrist you will have to cut the cording a little bit longer.  The total measurement for the bracelet is 7.5″.  This includes the end caps, jump rings, and lobster claw clasp.

Step 3:  Take the needle and sew up through the center of your cording and come out the side. Then you can start the beading process.

DIY Boho Bracelet_Artzy Creations 13

Step 4:  I created a pattern with the beads using a small Brass Ethiopian Bead followed by a Brass Hematite Bead, Turquoise Wooden Bead, another Brass Hematite Bead, and ending with a small Brass Ethiopian Bead as shown above.

Step 5:  When sewing, make sure to leave the same amount of space between the bead sets as you create your pattern.

DIY Boho Bracelet_Artzy Creations 3

Step 6:  Repeat this process until the entire side of cording has been beaded.  Repeat this process on the other side as well, making sure to equally space your beads as you did on the other side.

Step 7:  I also attached mini tassels to the end of my bracelet. I wrapped gold wire around the tassel after I threaded the larger jump rings through the tassel.  I also added a few extra jump rings before I glued on the end caps.  This entire step is optional, but it adds for a nice detail to your bracelet.

Step 8:  Using the E-6000 glue, glue the end caps to each end.  Let this sit for a couple of hours or over night to ensure that the cording is really secured to the end cap.

Step 9:  Open up the both jump rings and attach them to both ends of the end cap.  Before closing one jump ring, attach the lobster claw clasp, and then close.

There you have it!  It’s so fun and cheery.  Enjoy your fun DIY Boho Bracelet!

Simple Pom Pom Tassel

Here’s a very easy DIY tutorial for a Simple Pom Pom Tassel.

Pom_Pom_Tassel_Artzy Creations 1Tassels and Pom Poms are the latest in fashion right now.  I love both of them and the whole Bohemian look.  So, I was inspired to create a Simple Pom Pom Tassel with these beautiful brass breads from Happy Mango Beads.  You’ll Love how this project comes together in no time and how easily you can personalize it to match any of your tote bags or purses.

Supplies Needed:

  • 6mm Round Brass Beads
  • Large Pom Pom Maker
  • Two Colors of Acrylic Yarn
  • Scissors
  • Piece of Cardboard Roughly Three Inches
  • Large Needle
  • Pencil
  • 3 Small Pom Poms

Pom_Pom_Tassel_Artzy Creations 2

Step 1:  These are the Pom Pom Makers that I have found to work the best when making pom poms.  They turn out nice and full and are pretty fail proof.  You can customize your tassel depending on what size you would like.  For my tassel, I used the largest pom pom maker.  Follow the instructions using two different colors.  When tying off the pom pom, leave at least 6″ of yarn.  This will be used for attaching the tassel to your bag.

Pom_Pom_Tassel_Artzy Creations 3

Step 2:  Cut a piece of cardboard roughly 3″.  Wrap the yarn around the cardboard numerous times.  Make sure it has been wrapped enough so that the tassel will be nice and thick.

Pom_Pom_Tassel_Artzy Creations 4Step 3:  Slide the yarn off of the cardboard and onto a pencil.  Once on the pencil, use a separate piece of string to wrap the tassel several times and tie a knot as shown above.  Trim the bottom of the tassel using scissors.

Pom_Pom_Tassel_Artzy Creations 5

Step 4: Using a needle, thread a piece of yarn up through the top of the needle to thread the beads and pom poms.

Pom_Pom_Tassel_Artzy Creations 6

Step 5:  Keeping the needle on, thread the brass beads and pom poms.  After threading all of the beads and pom poms, thread this up through the pom pom and tie it tight ( into the pom pom).  Take three strands of the remaining thread and braid it.  Braid this thread long enough to make a loop that will be used to loop the tassel onto the bag.

DIY Tassel Necklace

Here’s a fun and easy tutorial for a DIY Tassel Necklace that just takes minutes to make.

DIY_Tassel_Necklace_Artzy Creations 5

Are you loving all of the Tassel Necklaces like I am?  I love anything with pom poms and tassels and these are just too cute to resist.  However, some of these necklaces come with a hefty price tag.  This necklace is easy and simple to make and the best part is…it won’t break the bank.

I’ve also included my little secret to stringing on the beads that have those tiny little holes in them so you can use in them in a variety of necklaces.

Supplies Needed:

Step 1 :  The DIY Tassel Necklace is roughly 32″ in length not including the tassel.  When the tassel is added, the additional length is just perfect and will hit at the right spot.  Begin by cutting a piece of DMC floss that is 40 to 42″ in length.  It’s nice to have too much DMC floss instead of too little with stringing the beads because you will need to tie this necklace off and don’t want the DMC floss to be too short.

DIY_Tassel_Necklace_Artzy Creations 1

Step 2: String the DMC floss with the flexible beading wire.  This will allow you to be able to string the beautiful amazonite beads onto the DMC floss or any other type of gemstone you may want to use.

Step 3:  String several of the amazonite beads followed by the bone beads.  You will end with the amazonite beads.

DIY_Tassel_Necklace_Artzy Creations 2

Step 4:  Add the tassel. Tie the end of the DMC floss a couple of times.  I also use Super Glue to adhere the ends to make sure the necklace will not come apart.

DIY_Tassel_Necklace_Artzy Creations 4

Step 5:  I wanted to add a little charm to the tassel to fancy it up a bit.  This is completely optional.  To add the charm, open oup the 3mm jump ring and slide through the top of the tassel.  Slip the charm on and close the jump ring using needle nose pliers.

DIY_Tassel_Necklace_Artzy Creations 6

There you have it!  A fun and simple DIY Tassel Necklace that you can create in minutes.  You can even watch t.v. while your making it.  So, have fun creating and personalizing your own DIY Tassel Necklace to your color choice.

Bar Necklace Tutorial

Bar-Necklace-Tutorial-Artzy Creations 3

Hi!   I’m have a fun and EASY necklace tutorial that won’t break the bank.  Check out just how simple it is to create this trendy modern necklace using these beautiful Brass Ethiopian Beads.

Bar-Necklace-Tutorial-Artzy Creations

Supplies Needed:

  • Ethiopian Small Light Brass Metal Beads
  • Needle Nose Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • 4 inch Brass Head Pin or Gold Metal Wire
  • 2  3x4mm Oval Jump Rings-14 Gauge
  • 1 4mm Gold Jump Ring
  • 10mm Gold  Lobster Claw Clasp
  • 3 to 4mm Gold Cable Chain

Step 1:  Take the brass head pin and clip off the head pin.  If you’re using gold wire, cut a piece roughly 4 inches in length.

Step 2:  Take your piece and create and eye pin with a loop at one end.  This can be done by using the needle nose pliers to bend the wire at a 90 degree angle and then back over to create a loop.  Just like you would find on an eye pin.  I wanted my own custom size eye pin for this necklace measuring at 1 -5/8″.  Trim the excess wire near the loop you just created.

Bar-Necklace-Tutorial-Artzy Creations 4

Step 3:  Place the Brass Ethiopian Beads onto the wire leaving enough room to make another eye pin at the end. I used about 33-34 beads on the bar.  Repeat the  step 2 to create your eye pin on the other end.  Trim any excess wire.

Bar-Necklace-Tutorial-Artzy Creations 5Step 4:  Cut 2 pieces of gold chain to about 7-1/2″ each.  You can custom size this as you would like.  If you want a longer necklace, which would look great too, just cut you chain longer.  Open up the ends of the bar and attach it to the the two chains.  It should look like this…

Bar-Necklace-Tutorial-Artzy Creations 7Step 5:  Add the oval jump rings to the end of each chain (2 total).  Connect one end of the lobster claw clasp to the jump ring and close it shut.  On the other end, attach the round jump ring to the oval jump ring. Open up the lobster claw clasp and attach the round jump ring which completes the necklace.

Bar-Necklace-Tutorial-Artzy Creations 2The sheer simplicity and modern aesthetic of this finished necklace will make it a hit for any occasion and only you will know that it didn’t cost a fortune or take forever to make!

5 Minute Weebles Using Recycled Easter Eggs

Here’s a super fun and easy project to use up all of those plastic Easter eggs that you may have laying around your house.  Make these 5 minute Weebles with just a few supplies with your kids.  They will love these.

Make Weebles Using Recycyled Eggs-Artzy Creations

It seems like every year at Easter we keep accumulating more and more plastic Easter eggs.  I’m always trying to brainstorm what to do with the plastic eggs so they don’t end up in the garbage.  This year I came up with these cute Bunny and Chick Weebles that literally take five minutes to make.  My daughter just thought they were the cutest and couldn’t stop playing with them.  Let’s see just how quick and easy these fun Weebles are.

Make Weebles Using Recycyled Eggs-Artzy Creations 2

Supplies Needed:

  • Plastic Easter Eggs
  • Play Dough or Salt Dough
  • Sharpie Markers

Step 1:  Gather up all of those plastic Easter eggs.

Make Weebles Using Recycyled Eggs-Artzy Creations 3

Step 2:  Put a little wad of Play Dough in the bottom of the egg.  Close up the egg.  If you are worried about your toddler opening up the Easter egg, you can put a little Super Glue around the edges.

Make Weebles Using Recycyled Eggs 1-Artzy Creations

Step 3:  Draw a little bunny face or chick face on the eggs with Sharpie markers.

Make Weebles Using Recycyled Eggs-Artzy Creations 4

If you find that your Play Dough isn’t sticking to the bottom inside of the egg, just open it open and give the Play Dough a firm push back down into the bottom of the egg.  Also,  if you find that your Play Dough dries up (which we have) just put a new piece into the egg.  If you don’t have any more Play Dough, use a hot glue gun and glue the dried up piece into the bottom.

My daughter absolutely LOVED this project.  She had so much fun playing with these when we had finished making them.  Plus, they’re are so many possibilities of different animals or funny faces that you could make.

Snowman Shadow Box Ornament For Winter

Snowman-Shadow-Ornament-Artzy-Creations-4a-1This post was originally for Darice. I love taking objects and re-purposing them to create an entirely different object.  For this cute snowman ornament craft, I took a paper mache lid from a hexagon box to create the shadow box effect.  Simply add a few small embellishments and you will have yourself a very cute and original ornament. You can display this cute craft throughout the winter season. Let’s get started and see how easy it is to create your own shadowbox snowman ornament craft.

Shadowbox Snowman Ornament Craft Supplies:

Step 1. To begin this snowman ornament craft, paint the outside and the inside of the box a solid color.  Coordinate the paint color with the piece of scrapbook paper that you will insert into the hexagon paper mache lid.

Step 2. Cut the piece of scrapbook paper to fit inside of the hexagon shape.  Adhere the paper using double sided tape.

Step 3. Cover the outside of the snowman ornament craft with coordinating Washi tape.

Step 4.  Hot glue additional embellishments into the shadow box. You can cut a shape out of scrapbook paper to layer on top of the background or a printed tag would also work well. Hot glue the pom pom trim around the edge of the hexagon shape too.  Hot glue a ribbon to the top as well to finish off your snowman ornament craft.

There you have it!  A cute and adorable snowman ornament craft that you can customize using so many different things.  Not too mention, this would also make a cute present topper for that special someone.

Free Printable Christmas Door Hangers For Kids

Can you believe Christmas is just right around the corner?  I know I can’t hardly believe it  myself.  Well, with the holidays coming up, it’s the time of year to keep the kiddos busy with lots of fun activities.  To keep my daughters busy, I  like to have lots of coloring sheets and construction paper around to encourage lots of creativity.  Being an art teacher, there certainly isn’t a shortage of that in our house, but this year, I wanted to create some fun Christmas Coloring Door Hangers that the kids could personalize themselves.  I took a poll in our house to see what my daughters wanted the most for a door hanger. Well, wouldn’t you know it, Santa was on top for sure followed closely by Rudolph and Frosty.  Since Santa and Rudolph were pretty much a tie, I designed a door hanger for each.

Free-Printable-Christmas-Door-Hanger-For-Kids-Artzy Creations 2

I printed these out  on a card stock paper and they turned out perfectly using my ink jet printer.  The card stock makes it nice too because it will withstand some wear and tear over the holidays.

Free-Printable-Christmas-Door-Hanger-For-Kids-Artzy Creations 4a

You can use crayons, colored pencils, or markers to color these in.  Your kids will enjoy coloring this fun holiday activity and it should keep them busy for a bit too… especially if you happened to be house bound due to snow!!!

I hope you and your kids have lots of fun with the door hanger printables.  Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.  See you in 2016!

Until then, you can follow me for more craftiness and fun at Artzy Creations or on FacebookInstagramPinterest,Twitter, and Google +.
