This week I’m part of the Holiday Made Easy Series with several other bloggers sharing a full weeks worth of recipes, drinks, and crafts. For the first day of Holiday Made Easy, we are bringing you recipes. With that, I thought, what better way to make your holiday a little simpler than making an easy and delicious, homemade cranberry sauce, that has only three ingredients?
For the holiday season, one of our family’s traditions is that we always have cranberry sauce. We have cranberry sauce with Thanksgiving and for Christmas dinner. Our family also has it for what seems like every day in between the holidays too. For years, we had been that family with the cranberry sauce that looks like it’s still in the can. We all made jokes about it rolling off the plate & down onto the floor and away it would go. However, several years ago, we started making our own homemade cranberry sauce and what a difference. This is about as natural as it can get with just three ingredients. This cranberry sauce is the perfect combination of tartness and sweetness. The best thing that I like is that you can make this recipe a day or two in advance and refrigerate it. I have also frozen this cranberry sauce too and you’d never have known it.
3-Ingredient Cranberry Sauce Recipe:
- (1) 12 oz Bag of Cranberries
- 3/4 Cup of Sugar
- 3/4 Orange Juice
Directions: Put rinsed cranberries, sugar, and orange juice in a medium size pot. I used our 4 quart size. Mix it with a spatula. Bring them to a boil. Once you hear and see the berries popping, remove them from the stove. Let the cranberries cool for a little bit. Next, mash the cranberries with a potato masher till they are well mashed. Put them in a container and refrigerate untill chilled. Seving Amount: 10-12 (Varies depending on serving size. But, I will tell you it makes quite a bit!)
