Here’s a fun and creative craft for kids that doesn’t require a lot of supplies or time! It’s a perfect project for teachers because it helps with fine motor skill development and the eggs will look so good hanging from the classroom’s ceiling.
- (2) Pieces 8-1/2″ x 11″ Colored Paper
- Egg Cut out (download HERE)
- 1/2″ wide, Strips of various colored or patterned paper
- Glue stick
Step 1: Download and Print out the Egg template. Using the template as a guide, cut out (2) eggs from colored construction paper.
Step 2: Fold both of the cut out egg shapes in half. Open them back up and staple a few times along the center seam. Open the egg back up and try to get the 4 pieces spaced about the same, but it’s doesn’t have to be perfect.
Step 3: Take various strips of paper and fold them back and forth (accordion style). Use the glue stick to put glue on the end of each piece, and stick the paper onto the egg, connecting two sides. Repeat as many times as wanted or until time runs out!
These look cool from all sides!
Well, my special Kindergartner had a blast making these. She really liked being able to cut and glue everything. If you wanted to, you could have your child draw patterns or pictures on the eggs before folding them and that could add an a little extra fun factor.
I hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial and I look forward to hearing how this craft worked out for you, so please leave a comment!
